Backup Exec Jobs Completed with Exceptions

Hello Everyone;

We had an issue with backup jobs keeps failing. So we had to disable
"Use Advanced Open File Option", since then we continue to have jobs
completed with exception, normally the job finishes with few files
skipped, but now the jobs are getting completed with over 30
files skipped.

I understand the reason behind this issue, and we would like to enable
Microsoft Volume Shadow copy on all jobs, my question:

Do we have to enable "Microsoft Volume Shadow copy" on the disk? - By
going to the volume properties and click on "Shadow Copies" tab, and
enable the feature? Or I should just make sure that the Microsoft
Volume Shadow copy service is running on the server we would like to
backup?

I don't really want to enable VSS feature all the time as it will
consume a lot of disk space, in top it will make high I/O on the disk.

Can someone assist?

Thanks

Adam

I guess I found the answer to my own question, there is no need to enable "Microsoft Volume Shadow copy" feature on the disk, just make sure that the Microsoft Volume Shadow copy service is not disabled.
