Backup Exec unable to connect to Remote Windows Agent

Hello,

We have Backup Exec 2010 installed on a file server running Windows 2003 server x86  connected to a tape drive.  We have installed the Remote Windows Agent installed on another file server running Windows 2008 server x64.  We installed it both by "pushing" it from the 2003 server and from the disk.  Regardless when we start a new back up job Backup Exec does not detect the remote agent.  We have disabled the firewall on both machines to test but still no luck.  I would be very grateful for advice on how to get Backup Exec to detect the Windows Agent.

Thanks!

Make sure port 10000 is used by beremote only.

Both servers are pretty vanilla file servers so not much else is installed.  How can I check if something else is using the ports?

You can use netstat command to check the port details...

use the netstat command, type netstat -a -b at the cmd prompt

Thanks...used netstat and doesn't seem to be any contention.

I used the debug utility provided by Backup Exec and believe this is what is happening when the agent tries to publish.  Does the following log mean anything to anyone:

Both servers are using the trial version.  I had thought this was fully functional but maybe it is restricted?
