Backup Never Completes...

Hello All,

A client of ours is running veritas Backup Exec for Windows Servers.
Small Business Server Suite.
Media Server: Version 9.1 Rev.4691
Administrative Console: Version 9.1 Rev.4691

All Updates have been applied.

Here is the problem:
The Backup will get to 99% complete, but it will never finish the process. It will just say 99% complete for days on end. I am unsure where the problem is located. I have tried to create new backup jobs, but they all seem to do the same thing.

Any help would greatly be appriciated.

Initially check for Pending Alerts in the Alerts tab and respond to them.


Refer the following Technote to configure the alerts automatically.

I applied the changes you referenced...I had most of them done. I will let you know if it fixes my problem.

You can also try a local disk backup.

Thanks that fixed my problem! Now it says it completed with exceptions! I already fixed that issue.
