Backup Process

Please excuse my ignorance but if I setup a backup job, start the job, then later create files in a directory that is being backed up what happens? Will the backup grab the new file when it gets to that directory or is a "snapshot" taken at the begging of the job and it only backs up the files that were there when the job started? FYI: Advanced File open option is being used.
Thanks,

Hi,

AOFO will take a snapshot when it come across an Open file. It then continues with the job and goes back and checks if the file has changed since the snapshot was taken. If they are the same it backs up the snapshot. If not it takes a new snapshot and goes back again later.

I think that's how it works.

BackupExec should grab all data on each share/resource that you select, as long as you have not created some complicated selection rules

That is if you are backing up up entire Admin Shares C$, D$, etc you should  be fine
