Backup exec 12.5 for small business

I run 12.5 on a small bussiness 2003 server, and have now installed a new 2008 R2 database server.

Can I use the remote agent with agent for MS SQL on the 2008 R2 server and backup to the streamer on the small bussiness server

According to the SCL you can use a BE 12.5 agent on a Windows 2008R2 server:

I am not sure about the licensing issue, do you have the BE12.5 SBS edition or a 'normal' BE edition ?

You would need to upgrade to BE 2010 R2 to backup SQL 2008 R2. See the SCL below

Windows Server 2008 R2 is supported under Remote Agent for Windows Servers compatibility.

Check for compatibility of your SQL version with BE 12.5. If compatible you can install agent on 2008 server, install licenses for RAWS and SQL on media server.
