Backup exec queues jobs

I have backup exec 10.0 installed and backup using an HP DLT 40 /80 Tape drive. The job are set to execute themselves at certain time intervals. I have 4 jobs set on my system. What is a problem is that most of the time my jobs are queued. Especially Exchage full backup and domain daily backups which is a differential backup. It also takes too long to verify. The thing is the jobs do verify but fail to start the writing then turn to queue. I have new tapes all the time and I also stopped the services and deleted the *.lck file, restarted the services and restarted the server as well. Some jobsa re fine some are queued. Please help me. Urgent.

Do you see any active alerts in the Alerts tab?
How have you configured the jobs to run? Are the backups supposed to overwrite the media... do they span over more tapes? do the backups hang only during the verify process? Do you see a byte count?

Please clean the drive a couple of times... also ensure that the tape drivers, the SCSI drivers and the SCSI Firmware are the latest!
