Backup failing with "remote agent not detected"

All of a sudden a few of my backup jobs are now failing with error "remote agent not detected" on a few servers. Here is the full error:

Final error: 0xe000846b - The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent. Make sure that the correct version of the Remote Agent is installed and running on the target computer. If the server or resource no longer exists, remove it from the selection list. Edit the selection list properties, click the View Selection Details tab, and then remove the resource. Final error category: Resource Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33899

I've verified and the remote agent version on the media server is the same as the client servers. I've also uninstalled the remote agent and reinstalled it by pushing the remote agent from the media server. Again, these jobs were working fine the other day. Nothing has changed....When I try to browse to the servers which the job is failing on with "remote agent not detected"....I get this error:

An error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of SERVERNAME. A network connection to the server could not be established

Leekum,

Verify that the versions of the remote agent on both the Media server and the remote server are the same.

The version of Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers can be found by right clicking on the file named BEREMOTE.EXE and selecting the versions tab. The file can be found in

X:/Program Files/Symantec/Backup Exec/BEREMOTE.EXE

where is directory that Backup Exec is installed to. "This is normally C:"

on the remote machine it will be in the same location with the addition of the /RAWS folder after /Backup Exec

Can you please follow the instructions in the TA: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH154250&actp=search&viewlocale=en_... and let us know the results?

Also, what is the version of the Backup Exec server you are using?
