Following a SUCCESSFUL tape to tape duplication of multiple backup sets (copying a single tape), the target tape is MISSING half the sets duplicated. Cataloguing the target tape causes beengine.exe to crash. The same things occur when I try duplicating the source tape again. The missing backup sets are listed in the duplication job log.
The sets may be on the target tape, but if I CAN NOT catalog or restore them, what's the point?
Anyone else run into this problem? What should I do?
Background: Installed fresh v12 system about 2 months ago, replacing a v9 (we wanted the encryption), and brought in v9 tapes via fresh cataloguing. We do full backups on the weekends for offsite, and incrementals during the week for onsite, using a dual drive tape library. Project data gets archived on demand for long-term retention, and those backup sets are duplicated for offsite storage / redundancy.
