BackupExecTapeDeviceDriverInstall Failed

I'm trying to run BackupExecTapeDeviceDriverInstall_273853.exe on a Windows 2003 Server running BE 9.1 with SP3. When the status message says 'Initialising Robotic Library Install Components' the installation stops with the following message:
'The wizard was interrupted before VERITAS Windows NT and Windows 2000 device drivers could be completely installed.'

I don't believe the robotic library components are installed, could this be the cause?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Please check the bkupinst.log for the last entry of "start time".
In this please check for "return value: 3" or "error".

Please paste that part of bkupinst.log

Thanks,

I had exactly the same issue, until I installed SP3. Once I installed SP3, everything was fine.
Maybe it is an issue with your SP3 installation.

Just thought I'd let you know my experience.

Good Luck

Hello,

Please run a repair installation then reboot the server and then try to install the drivers again.

Please see the technote below to run a repair installation:

I tried a repair installation but this did not help. As it's failing after saying initialising robotic library components I'll try removing this from the setup as we don't use it anyway.

Thanks for your help.

Removing the robotic tape library from the setup components did the trick.
