Backups Failing

0x45d - The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

Has anyone see this error before ? From what I can find it looks like the drive is timing out during a backup.

Do I have to use the Veritas driver for the Certrance Ultrium 2 drive or can I use the one from the manfacturer ??

Veritas recommends that their drivers be used. This could also be from issues with the hard disk, like excessive frags, corrupt data, etc.

Thanks for the response, I don't think it's a drive problem. This is a new drive, the old drive I have just got to small for out full backups so we did an upgrade. I have talked to Certance multiple times and the only thing they can some up with is there is a problem with Veritas. But my backups worked fine before I swapped out the drive.

Hello,

Do you want to say that this is a harddisk problem?
