What is best practice for backing up to a remote site. We currently backup about 1.5TB worth of data to disk (server) and replicate it to an external hard drive on a full backup. We would like to send it to our other facility, but the internet connection we have at our other facility is 6MB. With that being said, it was taking a long time to run the backup. In the current state it takes from Friday night until sometime Sunday to finish backing up. What can/should we do to get backed up to our remote site so we no longer need to take hard drives home?

Hello LavIT,

    You can consider the option of CAS-MMS and then using the Optimised Deduplication option.

What this will do is on the CAS server you can take the backups which will be deduped (meaning just the unique changes will b e backed up) and then the same will be duplicated to the Dedupe folder on the MMS server which is the remote site. The data transfer between the 2 sites will be very less and same data will be available for restore on both the locations.
