CPS setup - backfill first

I have about 4TB to sync from remote sites via T1 circuits - is it possible to simply recover from tape to the CPS server, then initiate a sync (backup)?

Thats the way we set up our CPS and it seems to work> The first sync after the initial copy will take a while but its quicker than copying the full 4TB over the T1 link.

Yes - it works fine against the user data.

Backup to tape @ remote site using 10d.
Restore from tape from 10d media server to driveletter:\cpsbackupdest\hostname\driveletter\"data folders" , for instance, "G:\remotesite\HOSTNAME\F\*DATA*"

once this is complete and the agent is loaded on the remote host a sync is kicked off 'over' the restored data. It appears information concerning the files is being updated (metadata), but files already in place are not overwritten/syncd. Only new files created since the backup are being moved over.

Note - once the sync kicks off the newly protected host has all the data that's recoverable listed from the restore tab on the cps server.
