Simple question to all.
We have spare licenses of Backup Exec Servers.
We want to use Symantec Backup Exec Enterprise Server Option for our SAN Backup Purpose
We are going to show Tape drive to SQL DB Server to achieve SAN Level Backup.
We dont have license for Symantec Backup Exec Enterprise Server Option. So can we use our free license of Backup Exec Server against it?
Thank you.

No. ESO is a separate licence and would need to be purchased separately.
However, to contact the Symantec Licencing department to see whether they can work out some sort of deal for you.

Thanks. I am in touch with Symantec. Will let you know the findings.

Are you intending to share one library with mutlipe Backup Exec servers or will you be using a separate library for each Backup Exec Server
Sharing a library betwen servers will need ESO. However separate tape devices/libraries connected only to each media server and not shared do not need ESO even if the tape device is connected via SAN technology. (unless you want to manage the servers from a central location - CASO server)

Thanks Colin for your reply.
We intended to share the Drives from Existing Tape Library to the Another Backup Exec Server.
@pkh : We got the reply from Symantec. They are saying you will need ESO license if you want to go ahead with the above scenario.
Thank you every one for clarification.

You might want to look in to the capacity license while you are at it, as it will unlock all the features and let your infra scale faster than your data.
