Cancel Pending

Hi everyone

The question may sound stupid, but it's a real pain in the ass: Is there any way to forcefully kill a backup job without restarting the services?

I have many cases with BE 12.5 where jobs hang and canceling them just puts the jobs in "Cancel pending" state forever.

Would appreciate any help

Rick

I had this problem too, along with not being able to do an inventory job. Using the link below, I fixed both problems at once.  Give this a try:

Yes you can kill the process called BENGINE using Task manager while restarting the BEWS services

Ähm.. The questions was: kill it WITHOUT killing the whole Backup Exec. In my case I normally have 5 or 6 jobs running parallely on one server and only one of those is hanging. I don't want to kill all the others in the process

I am also experiencing this issue.

BEWS12.5 is fully patched.

Any job that is canceled hangs.  As this is the CASO server, I can't just stop and start services.

It's unfortunate that you are not from around here. Otherwise I would have invited you for a drink... The solution is simple, and it works like a charm.

Thanks!

Hey i m having the same problem ( Cancelling the job takes ages  n goes in the Pending State). The link you  posted is not working, as i guess they have removed that article or someting. So if you can post the solution in few steps tht would be really helpful.

This document is removed and I can not find it anywhere...
I used to have this issue in the past and would be great if it is possible to force a job to stop without stopping the services...
