Hello,
I upgraded my Backup Exec server from 2010 to 2012 last month.
All jobs and backup done with BE2012 are fine and i can do restore without trouble.
Now, if i try to restore data from a previous BE2010 VMWARE backup with GRT enabled, i receive the message saying i have no selection made.
I already try :
- to inventory and catalog again my previous backup;
- to create a new catalog path, restart all services and do a full inventory/catalog to start from scratch with a new catalog database;
- to duplicate backup from tape to disk before trying to restore.
I am still getting the same message about a empty selection for my restore job.
The only way is to fully restore the VM in a new location and then start it to grab the data to restore.
But it's not a good solution, it take so long for just a little file (500Go to restore for some Ko).
Any help would be appreciate.
Thank for reading.

Hi,
I also tried to restore by searching file. But no more luck.
I forgot to mention. I am trying to do GRT restore from a Full VMware backup (the backup job terminated fine with no error).
Thanks

Are you using a CASO-MMS setup ? If yes, where did the backup job ran ?

The VM for which you are attempting GRT restore... has this VM been backed up using BE 2012 successfully ?

The VM has been backup using BE2010 successfully (full backup GRT enabled). Before upgrading to BE2012 i was able to do GRT restore from this backup.
Now, all attempt from this previous backup told me the restore has no selections.
All backups made after the update are working.
