A server with windows 2000 SP4 and veritas backup exec 9.0 with all available updates gives the following completion status:

Completed status: Canceled, timed out
Final error code: 00000000 HEX
Final error description:
Final error category: Other Errors

In the log previous to this the following is logged:

The complete backup is completed after less than 2 hours, the server is then waiting for something until the job time is exceeded.

Hello,

This error has occured because because the job exceeded the time window set up in the job properties.
Please refer to page number 382 of the Administrators's guide The guide can be accessed from the Backup Exec GUI as follows: Help >> View VERITAS Backup Exec Administrator's guide
The job status "Canceled, timed out" indicates that the Enable automatic cancellation feature in the Frequency - Schedule property was enabled and the job was not completed within the specified timeframe.

Hello,

If i do not set this maximum length of the backup job it gives exactly the same error. I had allready tried this before posting here.

The total backup is completed within 2.5 hours after starting. Afther this it just sits there doing nothing and gives the error stated in the original message.

Even if i only backup 1 file which can be complete in less than a minute the job does not finish but gives this error.

Any further help greatly appreciated.
