I have searched but could not find my situation.

I am upgrading, but moving to a new server at the same time.

I have installed version 10 on my new server.

Now I want to move my data and catalogs from the original version 8 server

I know I need to stop the services.
But then What data do I need to move from WHERE to WERE

.U01 files from Catalog to WHERE ? logs ?

Thanks

Hi,

It is not possible to directly move Backup Exec 8.x data to Backup Exec 10.0 database.

However you may try the workaround. In order to upgrade 8.x to 10.0 on a different server, you will have to install Backup Exec 8.x on a different server. Then upgrade to 10.0. Please refer to the following technote on how to move Backup Exec 8.x to another server:

- How to uninstall and reinstall Backup Exec for Windows NT and Windows 2000 v8.x without losing vital data information.

We hope this will help.

Just now checked back for an answer.

I do not plan to try you workaround.

When I first asked the question, I had just installed the new program. So since no jobs had ran yet, there was no Catalog directory.

I just now went in and stoped the services, moved the catalogs from the old to the new and then started the services. I now have my catalog history.

The catalog was the inportant part for me. The rest would be nice, but I am not going to install old stuff to workaround it now that everything is working.

Thanks
