Hello folks,

I heard that you should disable your AV-Program during a full system-backup, can anyone tell me why this should be so (maybe some data-inconsistency in databases or files)? If anyone has some proposals how to handle backups and AV-Prgs. please answer to this post.

Thanks in advance

hi,

it is not necessary to disable the AV while taking backup..

However, make sure you add and exception to exclude the backup exec executable or backup exec folder, that is c:\program files\symantec\backup exec from the AV-program.

this should take care of the backups.

this is done to avaoid AV scan intruption in the backups.
