I am installing a new dds-4 tape drive on my server for use with Backup Exec. Is it better to use the driver that shipped with the tape drive or a driver that Veritas provides?

You are best using the Veritas device drivers. To get the latest device drivers, go to the following link and download the Driver Installation file and install it if you have not already (this may cause a reboot).

Use the Device wizard then to install your new tape drive.

Latest device drivers are installed. BackupExec working properly now.
