Device Paused

First, Let me say I inherit this backup server and I'm new to backup Exec so please be patience with me.

When I try to run a backup job, the job status would say "Device Paused".
Does anyone know where I should go to start troubleshooting this issue?

Hello John,


To resolve the issue please perform the steps given below.

1. Start Backup Exec and from devices window delete the drive.

2. Recycle the Backup Exec services

3. Install Veritas tape drivers using tapeinst utility located under \Program files\Veritas\BackupExec\NT

4. Start Backup Exec and check the presence of the drive in the devices
window

5. Catalog the media you want to restore and run the restore job.
