Device drivers

I have 4 tape drives but none are using Veritas drivers when I look in device manager in Windows. I have downloaded BackupExecTapeDeviceDriverInstall_275676.exe and installed. It failed several times but then worked successfully. Tape drives still claim to be using HP drivers. I have Windows Server 2003 Standard SP1fully patched. Have tried several restarts.
Is there any way of manually forcing the Veritas drivers? I see them in Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\idr\disk4 but these don't want to install.

Hello,
Try doing the following:
How to install and uninstall VERITAS Tape Device Drivers using Tapeinst.exe utility
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/243636.htm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
But wether you need to install the veritas drivers depends on the compatibility of your device with Backup exec.
Please go through the following:

Standalone Drives Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/274347.htm

Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers Robotic Library Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) (includes tested drives) http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/274348.htm

- If your device is stated as Tested, install Veritas Drivers.
- If it is stated as compatible, install the OEM drivers.
