Do you have any documentation on group policy settings to get beremote to work with Windows Firewall? I have checked some of hte computers and the agent is there but full communication and therefore backups are not possible.

Hello,

You can refer to the Backup Exec v10.0 Administrator's Guide page no 320 and the following pages to know about firewell settings while using Backup Exec. You can download it from the link given below:

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 10.0 for Windows Servers Administrator's Guide (English)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/269777

Hope this helps you.

Regards

I had found that but it does not have any information about Group Policy settings with Windows XP firewall.

I did find another site with settings for sitekeeper that worked when modified for backup exec.

It goes under the define program exceptions and looks like the following example.

%ProgramFiles%Veritas\Backup Exec\RANT\beremote.exe:*:enablee:BackupExecRemote

So I guess really I am answered but from some other site.

Thanks for the time though.

Found the answer in a google search that had a post for Sitekeeper.
