Exchange Restore and OST Files

We have to restore an Exchange database that is a week old as our present database crashed and hadn't been backing up properly.  We would like to keep our e-mail that we have in our cached databases for Outlook (OST Files), and don't want it to disappear when the e-mail server connects with clients to update their status after the restore.  If we archive our new e-mail from our OST files to PST files, connect to the restored e-mail server, and then unarchive the e-mail, will the e-mails be synchronized to the Exchange server?

Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

If you are going to be using exmerge to bring the data back from the .pst to the mailbox, I'm pretty sure that it will merge it with what ever is there.   But this is a good question for Microsoft, because at that point you are not using Backup Exec but a utility from Exchange.
