I need to know why the beserver.exe is connected to an external ip with different pid's. The port is in the 16700 range.

is 16700 range the port on your server ? or the destination?

what is the destination IP?

I guess this would be for the update of the threatcon level, live update or the backup exec product improvement program which might send usage reports anonymously to symantec.
