Files In Use...

So can I backup files whle they are in use by users with BE2012? I seem to remember that being a no-no but lets face it...im a total noob! frown

I have a remote file server that is failing with "The job failed with the following error: The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Check for network errors."

but the network never drops. So if I could run it during the day and try some things to fix the errors instead of the try, patch, fail, try method that is really getting on my supervisors nerves that would be great.

Seriously...my job is in jeopardy over this issue.

Yes, choose to use Advanced Open File option in the backup job properties. If i am not wrong, this will be enabled by default and you need to uncheck it while backingup databases.

Coming to Network errors, try the workaround mentinoned in the following TN

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH153800

It is not referring to BE 2012, but i think it is worth trying...
