Final error: 0xe000fe36 - Corrupt data encountered

Hi,

I have Backup Exec 12.5 installed on a W2K8 machine, the backups are constantly failing with the error

"Final error: 0xe000fe36 - Corrupt data encountered"

Then for each folder it couldn't backup I get the error

"Backup- G: Directory Shares\ooo\rrr\eee\www\kkk\mmm\ was not found, or could not be accessed.  None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up."

And

V-79-57344-65033 - Directory not found. Cannot backup directory Shares\ooo\rrr\eee\www\kkk\mmm and its subdirectories.

The data is not corrupt and is at the path specified. I have the advanced open file agent installed and am using it.  I have ran a repair on backup exec.

The drive is 9 TB about 50% of it is used and I am backing up to a disk.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Go into your selection list, and switch to text view. Check through the list and make sure that the directory above is not showing up. If it is, you will need to remove it.
BEWS sees that it must back up a folder that now longer exists. It doesn't matter if you use AOFO or not...it would always fail if it was in the inclusion/exclusion list.

Laters!

Hi Barry,

Has this helped at all? If so, can you close this off then as a solution?

Thanks!
