How To Upgrade The RAWS?

utahed
Level 3
Running BEWS 12.5 with Lotus Domino agent on two Domino servers (media server and remote server).

After installing BEWS 12.5 SP2 on the media server, now cannot backup the remote server ("A communications error has occurred").  Event viewer on media server says "Access violation exception caught..."

Checked beremote.exe on both servers...they are not the same version.  Could this be the reason?

If so, how do I upgrade the beremote.exe on the remote server?  I tried just copying and pasting...no joy.

TIA.

Hi

You can either repush the agent or do it locallly.

Push installation of Remote Agent

Local installation of remote agents:

Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with backing up Lotus Domino servers.

However, despite that, I would jut like to throw out there than 12.5 works with at least back to 10d's remote agents (for the purpose of rolling upgrades).  Technically, all of  your agents are supposed to match the version of your BE server, but I've never seen this cause the backup to fail.  It will typically just give you the "Completed with exceptions: please upgrade the remote agent on this server" message.

 Hi,

First I would suggest you to upgrade the agent to the new version as Zaki provided at the links.
Second, try to do the following and check if this fixes the communication error with your domino:

on your domino server:

Stop backup remote agent service.

In the registry go to:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\DOMINO

* In registry set "Enable Notes Database Filtering" to 0 AND set "Enable Change Journal" to 0

on your backup exec server:
* Stop Services for Backup Exec

* In registry set "Enable Notes Database Filtering" to 0 AND set "Enable Change Journal" to 0

Hope that helps.
