I have BE2014 installed on Windows 2008 R2 std. Suppose the server crashed and I get new server box, how do I get back all the catalogs etc., transferred to the new box? Supposedly, periodically I should be able to copy some directories into a USb drive and copy them to the new box after re-installing the BE2014 engine.
Could someone point me to where such a procedure is described?
Thanks.
Ravi

Hi,
Essentially you should be backing up the Data & Catalogs folders.
You'd do the following:
1. Reinstall the server with Windows and install Backup Exec and patch via LiveUpdate.
2. Catalog the tape you want to restore from.
3. Restore the Data/Catalogs folders on tape to disk somewhere.
4. Stop the BE services, rename the current Data & Catalogs folders, & copy the restored Data & Catalogs folders into the installed directory.
5. Start up the BE services and you have all your data back.
Make sure that bedb.bak is included in the backup!
Thanks!
