IP Address Changed

Hi!

We have changed the IP of a server being backed up. Is it possible to update the backup jobs with the new IP Address of the server as the server was added with the IP Address and not with its DNS Name or we have to add the server again with the new ip address and recreate the jobs?

Hi,

If you went via name, then DNS would take care of this within BE. You'd need to change this within BE itself unfortunately and most likely change the jobs.

Alternatively, on the media server's hosts file, create an entry for the IP/name and let it resolve like this going forward.

If you add a server by its IP address and the IP address is changed, then you would have to add the server using the new IP address and re-create your jobs using the new IP address.
