Install Windows Agent

Hi everyone!

I can't install the Agent for Windows for Backup Exec 2012.

Follow the error:

Cannot open Service Control Manager on computer 'BR506AP14.AMER-S.TYCOELECTRONICS.COM'. This operation might require other privileges.

But the account that I'm using is a administrator account.

SO: Windows Server 2008 R2
Backup Exec 2012

Are you able to perform a local install of the agent ?

Hi,

Make sure UAC isn't enabled on the server, that the admin account being used is also added as a Local Admin on the server if necessary, and that any AV on the server isn't perhaps blocking the installation of the RAWS agent.

Hi Bruno, Are you running the local install or push install for agent? Please mention how are you trying to install.

Please attach the install log file of the agent from "%PROGRAMDATA%\Symantec\Backup Exec\Logs\RAWSInst2012.htm".

I'm installing agent with Backup Exec 2012.
1 - Add Virtual Server;
2 - Click rigth botton and Update;

I didn't find the file RAWSInstl2012.html

UAC is disable too.

Hi Banfi, please try to install the agent locally by running the installer on the machine.
