Inventory Fails

Hi,

I have a 16 slot tape library. There are only 8 tapes in the library. When I perform an inventory, it checks all of the 8 slots and populates the correct info. Then, it checks the 8 empty slots and fails. Is this normal? Is there a way to tell Veritas that there are no tapes in those slots?

What its doing is normal in other words INVENTORY operation will check all the slots for media presence.

What you can do is, Create a partition of slots that have media presence and then run the inventory to the particular partition so that it does not scan other slots.
