Is it possible to restore data tape backup using backup exec 11d using Backup exec 12.5 system

Description:  Data was backup using Backup exec 11D software.  Data was backup to tape.  Data needs to be restored using Backup exec 12.5 software

 

Question:

 

1. Is this possible considering disparity of versions?

2.  If it is possible are there are unknown procedures /gotchas we need to be aware of

Any help would be appreciated

2.  If it is possible are there are unknown procedures /gotchas we need to be aware of? 

You will need to Insert the tape(s), Inventory and Catalog the tape(s) - once Catalog complete successfully you should be able to restore the required data.

Easier way to restore after catalog completes :

Go to Devices tab - Right click on the Tape media lable - select Restore Data.. it will open the Restore job properties

Make your selections, configurations and run the restore job.
