Library error - incompatible storage media detected in robotic library

Hi,

I keep receiving this error when I try and Inventory, Label, Erase, or Catalog the media in the drive. The media is new and unformatted. I've tried getting the latest drivers but this doesn't help. I don't have a robotic library so I'm a bit confused why I'm receiving this error.

I'm using a Certance LTO2 internal 200/400GB SCSI tape drive with Backup Exec 9.1 build 4691.

Any help much appreciated.

Is the device detected in Windows correctly?
Are there any errors in the event logs?

Yes the device is detected correctly. Backups complete with no problems. No errors in the event logs.

Hello,


This problem may occur due to tape device drivers , firmware related
issues.

We suggest you to refer to the following steps to resolve this
issue: -

Update the firmware of the tape device to the latest.

- Update the SCSI controller card drivers and firmware to the latest.

- Click on the "Devices" tab | Right click on the tape drive | properties and ensure that proper media type is listed.

- Download and install latest VERITAS tape device drivers for Backup Exec

I've already downloaded the latest drivers for BE as I stated in my first post
The media type is listed as '***' - Read no Write no.

I'll try updating the drivers for my SCSI card now, however it seems unlikely this to be the cause of the problem.
