Logon Credentials Error when backing up Hyper-V VM which isn't a member of domain

Hi,

I'm getting the following error when trying to backup a Hyper-V VM which isn't a member of the domain:

- The logon account that was provided does not have valid credentials. Ensure that the user name and password are correct, and then try again.

As the VM isn't a member of the domain I've tried adding the local Administrator accounts on the VM but when I do a "Test Credentials" this fails. I've never had this error before and I'm wondering if it's something to do with Hotfix 227745 as it only seems to have started happening since I installed this?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

...can you resolve the DNS name from the media server? You'd ideally add in the local user name as: ServerName\AdminName and then enter the password, but if DNS can't resolve this, then use IP_Address\AdminName and the password.

Thanks!

Hi, have you tried login or rdp to the VM using provided credentials? if after trying it worked - you should be good. Thanks.
