HI!!

Currently have running a Dell PV132 tape unit w/1 tape drive. After or during my backup i get the tape alert msg :

----- TapeAlert Events -----

Information - The library has been manually turned offline and is unavailable for use.
Robotic Library for Device: DELL 1

Warning - Library security has been compromised.
Robotic Library for Device: DELL 1

Critical - The library has detected a inconsistency in its inventory.
1. Redo the library inventory to correct inconsistency.
2. Restart the operation
Check the applications users manual or the hardware users manual for specific instructions on redoing the library inventory.
Robotic Library for Device: DELL 1

I've got the current driver. I pop the tape in the casette holder and close the cover.
I've ran a scan and inventory prior, I've made sure the front panel is on the main menu but STILL i receive the msg. Am I missing something else?

Can anyone tell me how to clear these msgs?

THANKS!!!!

Hi,

The alert "LIBRARY SECURITY COMPROMISED" is only an informational alert and should not cause the backup job to fail. Within the configuration of autoloaders it is possible to place the drive in secure mode. This means that the drive can be protected from use, for example so that only certain users are able to access it. This can cause issues when the Backup Exec Administrator is not a specified user. In order to resolve this issue the hardware manufacturer should be contacted to explain how to remove the secure mode or how to configure it correctly.

Additionally also check this technote:
