No restore selection for Exchange 2003 individual mailboxes

Hi all...
here some of my troubles.

BE 11D - Exchange 2003 : 2008...06-2009
We do a full backup of the exchange 2003 store, and see in the restore selection the individual users..and even their folders to restore

BE11D - Exchange 2003: 07-2009..end 07-2009:
I noticed for one or other reason i see the store in the restore selection...but when expanding no users mailboxes or folders. Backup size stays approx. the same so i suppose he backups something.
Tried several suggestions from other users on forums etc... no avail.

BE12.5 with all hotfixes - exchange 2003: end 07-2009....now
I upgraded to BE 12.5 with all hotfixes, but still the same. The upgrade was needed because we also started backing up virtual images
I cannot try to see if i can restore something...because i have no spare exchange..

I noticed that some other users have same problems.....so please......provide us with some feedback what is hgappening, or a way to test if i can restore anything from the exchange backup...

I'm desperate here because i don't know if i have a backup of the mails ....

Hi Benny,

Can you go into the "Tools" & "Options" screen and click on Exchange.
Can you post a screenshot of this please?

Also a screenshot of the Exchange Settings specific to the backup job.
(Go into Job Setup and double click on the job that back's up exchange. Click Exchange on the Left Hand Side and post a screenshot of it here)

following information would be nice:

- What did you choose in the selectionlist of the job?
- What options are choosen under exchange in the job properties?
- Onto what kind of storage location is the backup saved? B2D, local or SAN, tape?

You should:

Run a full backup of the information store with GRT enabled onto a B2D location and then, if needed, duplicate this backup set to disk.
This also should enable you to see all seperate elements

We do a backup to tape
When we look at the restore selection, we see the information store, but if we click on te + we don't see te mailboxes. SIze and duration of backup seems ok.
We already did several full Backups of the complete informtion store

Please try to do a backup to disk and see, if you can see the elements in the restore selection of that backup.

Hello Benny and Dominik

I just got the same issue.
Backup Exec 12.5 configuration like screen shots above.

No error, Information Store Backup successful 12 GB, no Individual Mailboxes to expand? Resource credential Test successful.
I used Testversion until 1. Sept.  then i reinstalled with my Licences
Last time i was able to expand the mailboxes 16. Sept.

Did you found a solution? Any help would be estimated. :)
