No tape check

I want to check at a specified time if there is a tape in the drive. If there is no tape in the drive then I want to generate a event and send a mail. Is this possible

Just an idea:

-Right Click on your backup device and select inventory

-Setup an inventory job and schedule it for when you want to test for the tape being in the drive.

-You will get a Windows Event if media is not present (insert media please) you can use your monitoring software to look for the event.

That’s what I did but no event in the event log.
