Overwrite media, append if no overwriteable media is available?

Hi

Is there anyway to set a backup job or BE 2010 R2 options to try to Overwrite media first and append if no overwriteable media is available?

Only the opposite is an option (append or overwrite if no appendable media is available) and "Overwrite" which according to the help will fail if no overwritable media is available - here I would like it to try and append before failing.

No there is no option for other way around so it will look for overwritable media if not then will look for appendable media

Unfortunately there isn't any such option ! you can put this has an Enhancement request though.

Using the Append Period settings for the media set has allowed me to achieve what I was after.
