Is there a fix or new agent for AIX 5.3 on BackupExec 12.0.  Installed the latest BEWS_12.1364Linux-Unix agents, but backups are performing very slowing -- getting around 1MB/minute and goes upto about 30MB/minute tops.  Tried some of the tweaks suggested in other messages, but still slow.  Please help.

Backup performance issues are hard to rectify without monitoring what is happening during backup. What I have noticed on older AIX servers (like 7025-6F0) is that beremote is quite CPU-intensive, so it may be your case if you are backing up, say, 7025-F50. I would suggest taking a sample backup and running nmon in statistics mode (nmon -f) or, if you got time, just watch interactively during backup (start nmon and press c, n, d for CPU, disks and network interfaces). Then watch disk load, network load and CPU usage - one of them may be your case's bottleneck. It could be that your backup scenario involves a LOT of small files and this is not handled well by beremote, to my experience.
