RALUS on HP-UX getting Access Denied

JasonWoerner
Not applicable
I have the 12.5 RALUS installed on an HP-UX system. This seemed to go well. And I see the system published to my media server running on Win2K3. Clicking on the server to browse the file system and make backup selections, however, causes an Access Denied to appear. I have created a set of credentials using the root account but they are rejected. I have confirmed the root account is part of the beoper group on the HP-UX server.

Can anyone help me determine additional troubleshooting steps?

1.Kindly debug RALUS agent

How to run the Symantec Backup Exec (tm) Remote Agent for UNIX or Linux Servers in debug mode
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/272988.htm

 # cd /opt/VRTSralus/bin
 #./beremote --log-file <file name> &

2. Also ensure that you dont have HP-UX Shadow Trusted Passwords feature is enabled.

When the HP-UX Shadow Trusted Passwords feature is enabled, Backup Exec for Windows Servers is unable to authenticate to the Remote Agent for Linux and UNIX Servers.

Trusted system's protected password database would be in (/tcb/files/auth/*/*)

Note:The file /etc/shadow is not used in any way by the HP-UX login facility.
