Dear All,

We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 installed with SEPM 12.4 and Backup Exec 2012. We need to upgrade the system to Windows Server 2012. After reinstallation of Windows 2012, we are planning to install BE2014 and SEPM 12.4. Kindly let us know what are all the steps that i need to make sure before proceeding with this activity.

Hi,

Check the TN below...this details how to move Backup Exec. Not sure on SEPM and I would suggest you direct that part of the question to the SEPM forum:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67768

It's actually a pretty simple process...

1. Stop BE & grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders.

2. Upgrade to the version of Windows you want too...

3. Upgrade to BE 2014.

This assumes that you're doing an in-place upgrade of Windows, and not a clean installation. But that TN will assist.

Thanks!
