Remove Failed Server from Backup Sets

Hi Everyone,

I support backup exec for my company and we've recenlty have a server crash. We recovered all of the data with the help of Backup Exec but took the server out of commission as it was just handling a few tasks that we put on a new virtual machine. Now, every night we're getting errors that backup jobs failed because Backup Exec cannot connet to the failed server.

I've gone through each backup job and removed all of the selections for the failed server but still no luck. How do I go about removing the failed server completely from Backup Exec? Also, what's weird about this is that we didn't receive any error messages at all until the server had been down for 2 or 3 weeks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nate

Hi Nate,

Open up your selection list and go to View Selection Details. Edit the server out by deleting any references to it.

Thanks!

You should NEVER directly access the BEDB unless directed by Tech Support (which has an infinitessimal chance of happening), and in this case you definitely do not need to do so
