Resource Credentials not working after password change

Jussi

We changed the password for the backupexec user and now all jobs fails due:

Final error: 0xe0009b61 - The logon account that was provided does not have valid credentials. Ensure that the user name and password are correct, and then try again.

If I go to the Resource Credentials options for the job an select the correct username and press "Test all" or "Test Selected" nothing happens, usually it should come something like test passed or failed. But nada.

Any ideas or pointers ? Is symantec support the next step for this one ?

Our system is Backup exec 2010 R2 running on a 32Bit Windows server 2003 R2.

I would suggest you to update the Credential for the backup exec services ... You can update that by going to Network --connect to media server --Click on services and update the credentails ..

Check the logon account and verify if it has enough privileges. It should be a member of the Domain Admin group and the Administrators Group

-- The account should be a part of.
Backup operators group
Log on as service
Logon as batch job
Create a token object
Act as a part of Operating System
Backup files and directories on the Remote server

Make sure the remote agent is running on local system account and the other services are running on a domain admin account .

Hi,

Open up BE --> Network --> Logon Accounts

You'll see your service account. Click the Edit button, and then hit the Change password button. Enter it in twice. Restart your services, and this should clear it up.
