Hello,
This is the error I receive when restoring/redirecting all DBs to a different server:
V-79-57344-37958 - The backup of resource was written by a previous version of Backup Exec. The maximum size for a backup set in that version was exceeded. To restore the data, disable the 'Use Fast File Restore' feature, and run the restore job again. For information on how to disable the Use Fast File Restore feature, see http://support.veritas.com/docs/278673
The version of Symantec Backup Exec is 2010 R3.
Fully patched.
Latest agent re-deployed to target server.
Deselected "Use fast file restore".
What is the maximum sze limit for a restore?
Is there any configuration change I am missing?
Thanks for your help
Davide

Following this thread
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...
and apply this hotfix 173536
And then it was a matter of restarting SBE services, server reboot and a bit of luck (..afterall it is always under windows...:-)

Hi,
Please check the TN below for additional information:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH128478
Do you get the same issue if you try to restore to the same server?
Thanks!

Yes, that is the exact document I followed.
I have also attempted to install the Hotfix 354875 as suggested but I receive this error:
The installer cannot install the patch because the BEWS 13.0.2897.0 program being upgraded may be missing or the patch updates a different version of the program. Verify the correct patch.

It is already BE 2010 R3 with SP2 and it is fully patched.
I have just added the hotfix.
As for the remote agent, it is telling there are not updates required on the target server.
Started the restore and I do not receive the error anymore, though the Job Status has been "Ready;Unknown" for the past 25 minutes.
Any idea?

...matter of interest, but can you restore ANY data?
Thanks!

yes,
I have tested a data restore/redirection without problems,
The restore job is still ready;unknown. I have also re Run Now but still same...
I m thinking to reduce the number of DBs in the restore (selected 10 DBs)
04-23-2013 02:45 AM
...try 1 DB for now. How much data are you restoring at any 1 go?
04-23-2013 05:12 AM
I DB at the time, 4MB. It hangs on Ready;Unknown and does not restore a singole DB either.
Prior to upgrade, hotfix and deselect use fast file restore I managed to restore/redirect 1 DB.
Furthermore, I cannot even restore/redirecting data files.
What is going on? All services are running

One more piece of information:
I do not find the target server listed under devices in Device tab, since I have re-deployed the agent to the target
04-23-2013 10:38 AM
...is the RAWS agent started on that target server? If so, check to see if any firewall is running and blocking the RAWS agent. You should then open port 10000...
Thanks!

Fixed it, it seems it takes a very large amount of time to restore
Thank you

...and how did you do this? Any person with this issue in future would benefit from knowing.
Thanks!

one more info:
Deselecting "Use fast file restore" will drasticly reduce the speed of restore.
