Restore an SQL DB from file backup

Hello,

is there any way to restore an SQL DB from a file level backup with BE?

ex: file xxx.bak which is a full backup of an SQL DB that is backed up with BE(as a file, DB is not backed up with SQL agent).

can it be restored directly as a DB using the SQL agent?

No it can't be restored as a DB as it was not backuped up with sql agent. You can restore the file again as a flat file in the SQL server or to any other location.

The database file which are backed up with agent only can be restored as database files.
