Restore data from another backup exec 2012

Dear Supporters,

I have installed backup exec 2012 on a server windows 2003 sp2 and run for 2 weeks, after that I find some conflict happen, I have to move backup exec to new server PC also run windows server 2003 sp2 and also same join domain, we can install and run as normal backup exec on new server PC, how I can recover all previous setting and jobs to new server, if 2 servers still run with 2 different name in domain, 2 different IP.

Hi,

 

Unless you have backed up the Data and Catalogs folders on the media server, you will have to catalog every single tape to add this back into the BEDB.

Along with this, you would need to recreate your jobs etc.

If you had backed up the Data/Catalogs folders, you would follow the TN below:

But now due to some limitation, we need to move to another server again, with different windows version and platform, the current is windows server 2003 x86 standard, we move to windows server 2008 R2 x64, we also use backup exec 2012, can we utilize data which was backup before, due to when we transfer all data and catalog to new installation in windows 2008 r2 then ok, but when try to refer data which was backup then some error appear, like can not inventory successful or try to run catalog function also fail.

Pls guide.
