Retrieving Data from v2i

I had an old laptop with Powerquest Drive Image 7 installed on it and I now need to restore the data files from my backups onto my new Windows 7 (64 bit Ultimate) laptop.

How do I do this?

When I try to install Powerquest D\rive Image 7 onto my Win7 machine, it warns "This program has known compatibility issues", or am I OK to install for recovery purposes?  Is there any current software which will open my v2i files?

Thanks for your help

PS Sorry if posted in wrong area, but this forum doesn't offer the option of Discontinued products ;)

Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR 2010) or Symantec System Recovery 2011 (SSR 2011) may be helpful in this case as these products store the backups in the same .v2i format.

You can download SSR 2011 from www.backupexec.com

Initially you can use it in Evaluation period of 60 days and should be able to read the v2i image that you have and should be able to restore.
