SBE2012 Duplicate backup fails with V-79-57344-33967

I am doing a PoC for a customer that has a VMware setup they want backed up and duplicated to a remote site.

There is a managed SBE 2012 server at the production site and a CASO enabled SBE 2012 at the disaster-recovery site.

The sites are connected via fiber 20mbit VPN link.

The backup and verify operations go fine, but the duplication fails with this message:

1.2.3.4 Backup Server-Duplicate Full -- The job failed with the following error: The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.

Both servers share deduplication storage devices with each other.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,
Jens

Hi,

SBE 2012 is unsupported and not on the SCL for BE 2012. There is a Beta that will start shortly to support Windows Server 2012...check the link below:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/announcing-new-beta-backup-exec

This would explain your error.

Thanks!

The error happens when the full vm backup is being duplicated to the dr-site, so I guess this could be it.

Now how to contact Symantec about this?

If you have a support agreement in place with Symantec, you should have a contact # for them. Give them a call, quote your customer number, and log the call with a priority level.

Thanks!

I'll call support today and update the thread afterwards.

Any update? I'm also doing a POC and doing a VMware backup of a server and duplicating it to another site. Storage shared and so on.. I've manually duplicated a backup set and it worked but when I added the duplication as part of the backup job I get this error also.
