I have been have a problem recently where every two or three weeks my Small Business Server 2003 (running Backup Exec 12.5) starts throwing Event ID 201 License errors. When I go look at the server I only show the default 5 client licenses and I have to restore my licenses back. In trying to track down what is causing this, I have excluded the license files/directories and my Exchange directories from being scanned by Symantec Endpoint Protection, as this was mentioned to me as a possible cause. Also, I am trying to free up disk space on the C drive of the server, as I have heard of this as a possible cause. One other cause that was mentioned to me was that Backup Exec doesn't release some processes and it somehow affects the licenses. I did see an article about this referencing Backup Exec 8.6 , but assumed this would not be a problem with 12.5. Has any experienced this and have any advice for me?
