Serial Key on a New Server

I have a new file server. I was using Backup exec on my old file server and now I need to move Backup Exec to my new server and it won't take my serial number. I only have one copy and I am using that one copy on my new server. My serial number worked on my old server and I don't understand why it won't work on my new server. Do I have to contact Veritas to move my copy of the software? I'm not violating copyright, I just want to use my one existing copy on my new server.

Are you definitely installing the same version number?

Once you have confirmed this, try a different media. There is no reason it shouldn't work.

Hello,
the old Licence should work as long as you have uninstalled the Software from the original machine.
Do you get any error message or error code?
